I look across the vast landscape of humanity and realize we have lost our way. I see an epidemic of loneliness and disconnection on such a deep level. True connection isn’t satisfied by social media or any other counterfeit connection because the artificial cannot possibly replace authenticity between us. It’s like we got ahead of ourselves and misplaced a very valuable compass and now we wander aimlessly trying to find our way back home. But it’s not a hopeless problem, it’s a structural problem. We need to get back to the basics of what it means to be human. We need to understand the source of our needs and find our way back to them.

No amount of new “progress” can get us there because it’s not about moving forward but going back. We need the never-changing ancient wisdom of true community and sacred belonging knitted back into the daily fabric of our lives. There’s been an interruption to our structure, so we need to rebuild the ruins on the solid foundation of what we do know. Only then, can we find our True North and the direction we desperately need to repair the damage and restore ourselves physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. We don’t need a manufactured life; we need the kind that feeds our mind, body and spirit while addressing the cornerstone need of every human on this earth…. connection to one another….and to the true source of life itself…. Our True North.

We also absolutely need accountability towards the common good for all, an evolution of what true faith looks like and acts like when it is grounded in the common sense our Good Maker endowed us with. I see a movement stirring in many people’s hearts and minds. It’s a movement towards one another, abandoning the fraudulent replacements and leaning back into reality. It’s understanding ourselves on a visceral level and embracing the mysteries of our humanity. This my friends, is the movement towards restoration! A movement of activation not stagnation! This is the kind of movement that will propel us towards a better tomorrow and a bright future. It’s the common sense ingrained deep within that we’ve ignored or completely lost sight of when everything else kept us from noticing.

I’m so ready to have common sense conversations with transparent intentions. I’m so ready to watch families and communities thrive again as we initiate a wave of connection to God and one another. Let’s be a conduit to this kind of structural change and watch a restoration begin!
